I am told my travels
are dangerous and it
is a death wish that
I seek out.
I just want to find
what many seem to care not
to, that special life
that moves about.

Alone, I ford swamps
and venture down covered
over paths with obstacles
in my way.
Though hard and agonizing
at times, causing sweat
blood and tears; it enlivens
my remaining days.

Forget the sorrows that it
causes, I too well remember
all of the interesting things
and plenty of joys.
I have seen life played out
just as nature had intended,
unwashed, unabashed and dramatic
with nature's ploys.

Though the climes can be harsh,
there opens up a much more
subtler world with a beauty
that is untread.
This is why I seek these places,
to be lulled in this relaxing
enjoyment and to cherish life
that's endearing instead.

Though just as hard to find,
I seek out my fellow travelers
as well. Hoping to catch up
with one that is out there.
To rest in one of these spots,
strike a fire and share a
meal and our stories, sorrows,
joys and about whom we care.
