Poetry in/of one's life...
Simple Limitations
by Mike K2
I almost fell out of the chair at the suggestion of my poetic harem. Mention that to other members and that would really scare 'em. I sprinkle about my pillow and bed, the words of beautiful poems I hear. I really appreciate this glimpse of your fiery spirit that I too, hold so dear. While your poetry brightens my day, takes my mind off problems and keeps me from being down. It's still not like we' re out and about, holding hands while walking around. Your lovely verse takes my heart to a new plane and helps it to heal and to again rejoice. But it's still a poor substitute for not seeing your lovely smiling face and listening to your sweet voice. ... and though it gives me hints of what just might satisfy you. ... it doesn't allow me the chance to love you the way that I really want to. |
Nope! No notes about the specific inspiration, but this thought really occured to me. This one speaks about the effect of poetry and desire that poetry reflects.
