Christmas Blessings

by Mike K2

It was Christmas Eve,
no, rat-a-tat-tat from
the keyboard in the house.

Being so quiet, the orange
tabby had his ear to the wall
as he heard the snoring from
a mouse.

******

The writer made it to church,
the Midnight Mass, he was attending.

With Alleluias sung and incense
burning, he added to their prayers,
the thoughts his mind had pending.

******

In his house, were no Christmas
stockings or decorations, only a simple
advent wreath.

What he loved about this year was
his new society that provided him
everyday, with sweet relief.

******

What brought him to this site
was a showing of his appreciation
and love for someone who touched
his life.

The poem, getting a life of its own,
took a turn down a road, that other
people enjoyed, causing to him, strife.

******

But the underpinnings were quick
to disperse, enjoyment was a click away.

He hit this site, posted and reviewed,
saying, "Hi!," to my friends that
always provided for a good day.

******

This year I lost that childhood
anticipation of receiving presents.

Because it has been Christmas every-
day, signing in and unwrapping your
gifts from your literary presence.

******

Many of you became friends and
even poetic lovers, people looking
up to me as if I was a great, and
as an equal, to those I held above.

I can not but hold the thoughts
of each of you in my heart; my
love, hopes and prayers for you
all, fly out of my head like
released doves!

******

You have made it like it is always
Christmas here. I whole heartedly
wish and pray for you a...

Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
holding my glass up I vow,
to continue to spread FanStory Cheer!

******

More so, then the people around here,
you are more loving and comforting,
even though you are from afar.

Because of what everyone here
means to me, "I rate you as
people with my, 'Sixth Star!'"

To be honest, if not for some poetic magic happing in my life this year, it wouldn't have been very good at all. I could have taken what happened to me and write it as a , "Fantasy Island," episode.

Every member can take a little credit and some pride, because of you, an area I never thought I could do well in made me feel like I have excelled.

My great works are for other people to decide, but through you I have ended up feeling that I have many good pieces that next year, I plan to try and have published. I am working on my flight control board to attempt to keep track of my submissions. My business thoughts of this aspect is that I am only going to write for the joy of it and then follow up and offer them out.

Have you ever wondered why it seems like only the dead poets become great? Well, that's the poetry business. Most publishers want a few months to decided on publishing your piece, but don't want you simultaneously submitting them to their competition. With this process the way it is, it ensures a long life of waiting. lol

I have freely promoted this site because of a certain spirit that I haven't found anywhere else. To the publishers that consider this another form of publishing, tough nuts! I plan to post here first as I consider this a forum of friends. No, Tom isn't sponsoring me, it is my decision to use FanStory as the custodian of my portfolio. My only official sponsor is Bermuda Triangle Airlines, the only air carrier guaranteed to get you somewhere.

I have enjoyed visiting your homes for tea and the walks through your concertos, galleries, flower gardens and minefields; such as it is with poetry. Also sharing in your problems, adventures, farces and contributing with my own.
God Bless you all!
