We have to be many things to many people.
My Faces of a Day!
by Mike K2
I wake up early to start my day,
eat, shower and take time to pray. Long before people come, I work; once there, duties I dare not shirk. The boss freaks and starts to shout, undoing the order and causing a rout. Customers want me to understand, it is their orders, they want at hand. Then lunch, a nap, I work a split; back at work, dragging, but feeling fit. Home; wife and kids, want their attention, hit me with issues, but mine I don't mention. Late at night, I finally can be myself, music or writing, my masks put on the shelf. Head on a pillow, I pray for a better way, but the masks go on, the start of a new day. |
