The Splendor of Autumn

Poetry Contest
Autumn is such beautiful, unique time of the year. I just love the foliage of maroon, yellow and gold, and the opal splendor. I may be a little biased, being born in October (smile), but isn't autumn simply magical? I find it inspiring and very, very poetic.

Now I invite you on a poetic spree to honor the queen of seasons.
Write a rhymed metered poem about autumn. Let's make it minimum three stanzas and sprinkle it with imagery and creativity.

I thank you for your artistry and participation.

This is a little example of my own poem on the subject:

The Golden Autumn

The golden autumn sets my heart aglow
as leaves of opal glisten in the rain;
I'm mesmerized by this majestic show
appreciating dreams are not in vain.

The foliage of lilac and maroon
produces such a futuristic sight --
Oh God, I am at peace in your lagoon
I thank you for the beauty and the light.

Two swans aglide in mirrored autumn pond
are lost in love - their satin silhouettes
reflect in colored water, and their bond
will melt romantic hearts with its duet.

The contest winner will win half of the prize pool of 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
