Why Do You Write Poetry?

Why do you write poetry? What is poetry to you? I often asked myself these question, and have got a variety of answers. So, why do you write poetry (instead of prose)? What persuades you to write poetry? What is your favorite form and subject matter? Where do you get your inspiration? What is your process of writing poetry? How do you feel, when your poem gradually comes into being? Write something about this matter, either in a poem (maximum 150 words) or an essay (maximum 500 words).
