Quatrain Poetry

For this contest we are looking for quatrain poems. A quatrain is a poem consisting of four lines of verse with a specific rhyming scheme

A few examples of a quatrain rhyming scheme:

A) abab
B) abba --- envelope rhyme
C) aabb
D) aaba, bbcb, ccdc, dddd --- chain rhyme

You decide the rhyme scheme and the number of stanzas. But each stanza must have four lines and be part of a rhyme scheme to be considered a quatrain.

Here is an example:

Tyger! Tyger! burning bright
In the forests of the night,
What immortal hand or eye
Could frame thy fearful symmetry?

In what distant deeps or skies
Burnt the fire of thine eyes?
On what wings dare he aspire?
What the hand dare seize the fire?

And what shoulder and what art
Could twist the sinews of thy heart?
And when thy heart began to beat,
What dread hand and what dread feet?

Only quatrain poems should be entered. One entry per person. New entries only.

The winners will be selected by the FanStory.com Contest Committee. The committee will read and discuss the entries. A winner will be announced approximately one to two weeks after the deadline passes.

The winner takes away a $100 cash prize. All writers will receive feedback for their submission.
