volcano haiku suite
Poetry Contest
Please write FOUR haiku - all related to the SAME volcano.
Each haiku must be written in THREE lines with a total syllable count of 10-17 syllables in each. That's a total count of between 40-68 for the four.
Haiku rules can be numerous, so here are those that need to be adhered to for this contest:
Personification is fine.
All written in present tense.
In each - two lines of inter-connected and grammatically correct vivid imagery (written as if one flowing sentence), plus a separate satori (line of conclusion or 'ah-ha' moment) on those two lines.
Minimal punctuation, and no capital letters unless proper nouns.
No artwork or sound effects.
No author notes.
Title must be 'haiku suite (1st line of your first haiku)', and clearly visible.
'Description' above title must ONLY read, 'volcano haiku suite'.
Presentation must be in TWO colours - one for background, one for type.
The contest winner will win half of the prize pool which is based on the number of entries. The second and third place winners will each share the remaining prize pool. The prize pool is currently 60.00 member dollars. There are 6 spots still open. If all open spots are used the prize pool will be 90.00 member dollars. In this contest at least 2 submissions must be made for the vote to begin.
Deadline: Contest is closed. Deadline was Sunday, March 29, 2015.
