Evelyn Black: Praying for everyone affected by the shooting in Las Vegas earlier today. It's hard to believe that someone could be capable of doing something so terrible, but here we are, witnessing "the worst mass shooting in U.S. history." |

Evelyn Black: The difference between a good character and a great character? The author that writes about a great character knows everything about them, from their favorite flavor of gum to the actor/actress they secretly (or not so secretly, in some cases) wish they could marry. Even if you don't need to add the fact that your character has a deep loathing of heavy metal music to your story, it still helps you to know your character better. Think of them like friends. The more you know about your friends, the better you understand them. The more you understand your characters, the better you can write them. |
