Collecting historical and rare newspapers, books and prints
I am a born and bred city-dweller living in the country. Raised in the Bronx, attended Roman Catholic elementary and high schools. Received a B.A. from a Mid-Western college, returned to New York City and began my career as a cartographer and mapmaker. After a time I entered the fields of publishing and commercial printing, and other diverse industries. After getting married in 1979 my wife and I moved to New Jersey, where we live today with our three children.

I have been writing for many years, and my poetry and prose is published in various anthologies, journals and magazines. My writing career really got a jump start after winning an award for best narrative in the Fall 2002 issue of The Bronx County Historical Society Journal.

My first book of poetry and prose "A Night on Mystical Mountain," had been released in November 2005. It is doing quite well, especially in the UK and India. It is all very exciting! My second book "Conversations from the Past," was released January '07. It is a collection of poems, short stories, essays, historical narratives and selected biographical sketches. Hardcover editions are available for both of these books.

My third book is at the publishers waiting for an editor and a contract! The content is a departure from my previous two books. It is a compilation of the diary of a 24 yr. old woman who lived in upstate New York (Ellisburg) in 1919. "The Diary of Jenny Lee," with many annotations, particularly technological breakthroughs. It was an interesting time, the turn of the Tewntieth Century and a transition from horse and buggy to automobiles.

My eight chapter novella, "Invisible Universe," has been translated into Chinese and published in Science Fiction World Jan issue - 2007, as a serial, which is publishing OMW, and is immensely popular in China. Their primary magazine has a circulation I've seen listed as anywhere from 300,000 to 500,000. Contrast that with the big three SF magazine markets here in the US, whose combined paid circulation (going by 2005 numbers) doesn't quite hit 60,000. Even proportionally speaking, that's a bigger market, made even larger by the fact that apparently 3 or 4 people read each copy of SFW. I'm not sure what the circulation of SFW's "Translations" magazine is, but I'm willing to bet it's going to get OMW read by quite a few folks, and that's all to the good.

I share the January 2007 issue of OMW with John Scalzi's "Old Man's War," and short stories by the noted Japanese scifi writers, Chouhei Kanbayashi and Masaki Yamada.

You can read this novella here on fanstory [in English, of course]. It is in my portfolio.

I am happy to be a part of this website and look forward to contribute as an author and reviewer.
