summers.243: It has been something to look forward to, being a part of fanstory and knowing I have somewhere to plug my work in. It's always fun to see how different writers respond to the same style of feedback. My format for reviews are based on the format I used for my workshop styled creative writing class at Ohio State University, which is generally as follows: note questions you have in the text through out; name what worked for the piece and name what needs a little more clarification in the piece as well; always thank the writer for sharing their work; of course, spelling errors and characterintegrity issues the reader has (can i believe this or not-and if not, then why?); proof read for publishing. That's how I operate. Most people love the feed back and make changes accordingly and always let me know how they were able to improve their writing with a fresh pair of eyes. Some people don't like the feed back, but I wager those people are the ones who never intended to edit anything to begin with. |
