penneylane:
why is it so hard to find a publisher that doesn't want all your money?? Any suggestions are welcome. Feeling disappointed.
michaelcahill: If they want your money, they aren't legitimate. Stephen King was turned down constantly for his novel Carrie. Then one day, a publisher thought it was worthy of publishing. It's frustrating, but the answer is to keep trying. Disappoint is a huge part of what we do, but don't let it stop you. It all vanishes when a publisher says, "yes". -
nor84: If you're seeking traditional publishing, they don't ask for money, they pay it.
If you're talking about self-publishing, then you do have to pay -- unless you do it yourself. -
