MTShepherdess: Just finished some birthdays and taxes (you might imagine how they intersect... or dissect). I heard a person on the radio talking about his (wonderful) poetry... that he began to write after first embarking on a sports career. He said that he only 'tried' to play music, but that poems were a form of 'music' with words. I would agree with that. But after first writing poems as a child, then learning to play various instruments... I still find myself coming back to poems as their unique 'voice'. |

MTShepherdess: Just finished a whirl-wind production of "Briar Rose", a play by Ann Brummer, Music & Lyrics by Bradford Hagen. I played a weaver, "Mary", with several young boys as my weaver tribe, in an enchanting version of Sleeping Beauty, with magical twists. We had two performances. The "house was packed". Let me know if anyone would like to purchase a DVD... this is a fundraiser for children's programs. Small town talent! |

I'm an actor, director, set builder, hat maker, and just do what needs to be done. Oh the stories. We have a strong childrens program as well. They are so talented and a lot of them stay with us till they are adults , still acting. It is so good for their social development - | ||

MTShepherdess: Happy Sunday. I've been busy auditioning for a community play and then rehearsing madly for it. Hope all of you are well and escaping any extremes of weather or social distress. I will try to return to my writing and writer feedback soon! |

MTShepherdess: Greetings fellow writers. I'm interested in writing Sci-Fi as it relates to new technologies, medical field, psychology, and neurobiological sciences. I also like political intrigue, culture bridges and investigative works, though I've not written in these areas. In my 'day job' I have written nonfiction (textbooks, WebMD type educational materials for the community) but this isn't my 'dream'. For comfort and solace, I write poems and music. I'm hoping this website will give me the learning opportunities and encouragement I need to actually take something from my computer and publish it. I've submitted nothing of a creative nature to any publisher. Since I've worked in healthcare for 40 years, I'm pretty sure I should be putting some of that knowledge to work. I'm just too 'busy' being a 'doer'. But a life deferred is not a life. The other type of writing I'd like to do is quasi-work related but more creative than my 'day job'. I'd like to write therapeutic stories for children and for parents & kids to read together. In my day job, I help children write their own 'stories' ... they talk and I type, or they draw on a tablet and I help them spell the words they want help with. I often send them home with these stories as memory makers. But often, there are at least 10-20 other children who could have benefited from this story. But I doubt big-time publishers are interested in individualized books. |
