marylou4: I am 67 years old and recently deaf. I can communicate via text messages or email. I began writing for pleasure over 40 years ago. I began to seriously pursue a writing career about a year ago. Three of my poems have been published; a short story is currently being submitted to publishers. Reunited is my first play. It reflects my own life in many ways. I am trying to embrace all writing forms and share what is in my heart with others. I know my gift of writing is from Jehovah. When I share this gift with others, it honors the gift-giver Jehovah. My life is firmly established on this principle written in Matthew 7:12. Jesus always taught what he learned from his Father Jehovah. Love is not just the absence of doing wrong and hurting someone; it is the commission of doing and saying what is true, loving, good, generous and kind. I will use God?s to inspire, support, encourage and help others. I am a retired school teacher of 25 years, who continues to teach, in other capacities. I recently became deaf, a couple of years ago, at age 64. My deafness does not define me, but offers me the opportunity strengthen my relationship with Jehovah. I am excited to use my gifts from Jehovah to encourage, inspire and help others. These gifts, I generously share with you. I seek not my interests first, but the interests of others.
