Tom Wood: I find it is easier to write down my feelings rather than speak them. I had courted my wife via mail from Korea sixty years ago. We got married on just our seventeenth date but after over 300 love letters. I was able to understand my thoughts and desires via my writing skills. She died three years ago and I found that she had kept all of the letters and with a heavy heart I have been able to read some of them. I did not know it then, but I was a darn good writer. I read a lot as a youngster and thought that I could write too. I had a tough life after my mother died when I was twelve. My father was a terrible evil man, teaching me by example what NOT to do. I am a better man because of that |
