I was born in Bakersfield, California in 1959; moved to Vernon, Texas in 1982. When I attended school, (60?s-70?s) my teachers, and family must have thought I was lazy, or dumb. Turns out I have, Dyslexia. This made learning hard; so school for me was a bust. In 1975, on a dare from my first husband, (Robert Bradly Jenkins, and no we were not married?) I began to teach myself to read with a dictionary. Twenty-two years later in 1997, I began to write down little things, that popped in to my head, I called these ?My Sayings?. Another year passed before I let a friend read some of, ?My Sayings? after a short while, he looks up at me, and said, ?Hey Vicky, I didn?t know you wrote poetry?; I said poetry, is that what you call this, poetry? And so it began; I write poetry!
