WriteWithHim: Hello! Actually this is really random, but has anyone ever read Edgar A. Guest's poem "The Little Orphan"? I am in the process of memorizing it as a part of an upcoming performance. It is soooo sad but BEAUTIFULLY written. If you have not read it, you should! Actually, if there is any poem by Edgar Guest that you have not read, you should. (He is my favorite poet ever!!!!) |

WriteWithHim: Hey all, quick question, I am in speech and debate this year, and I want to do a poetry performance about orphans. Does anyone know of a poem by a real, published author about orphans? Thanks. |

WriteWithHim: Today was my last day working at sonic! There's a lot about it that I will not miss, as demonstrated by my poem, but some of the people were hard to say goodbye to! I can go back and visit though, of course. Groundwire ministries did a thing today called "Hoops for Hope." Basically it is a fundraiser for their ministry, which is mostly geared toward young people, especially those who feel sad and alone. It's a really cool ministry! Anyway, "Hoops for Hope" is this thing where they have teams of guys shooting hoops at this gym. The shooting last 24 hours! Last year, all the guys had to shoot hoops for all 24 hours, but it ended up really taking an awful toll on their arm muscles so this year they have teams switching off. My dad and FANTASTIC brother, as a team, took a 12 hour shift with each of them shooting for 6 hours and rebounding for the other 6. I think there is one guy there though who is doing all 24 hours!! wow! there is only about an hour and a half left. You can actually view the people shooting, there's a live feed which can be viewed by googling "hoops for hope ground wire" or something similar. So proud of my dad and my brother! |
