Rohit John: THE HEAVENLY BATTLE A beautiful morning it was serene, tranquil and peaceful the leaves glistening with pearly dew the entire nature spell bound in its bloom But all was not so peaceful in the cosmos above The moon sorrowful and furious at his waning power decided to have it over with once and for all and summoned his silver army of stars "For long we have meekly given way to this Sun and watched him burn our dear earth with impunity I propose that we now have it over with once and for all" said the moon to this trusted lieutenant Proximo. " I agree ..my lord. " said Proximo to the Moon "He gets to keep the earth when the people are awake and active and the birds are chirping and singing He gets the earth when the nature is shrill with beauty and wonder" Said the Moon - "My fate since eternity has bound with my dear brother and i have performed my duty as a brother just as i should. But I can no longer bear to see the scars on my brother's face and the drought and famines wrecked upon his children's lives ." So taking charge of his 100 million strong army, Proximo set out to defeat the Sun reaching the Sun's abode , he called out to him. " Oh Mighty Red Emperor . Your time has come to an end. For long you have oppressed Moon's beloved brother For long you have tormented one and all " Said the amused Sun to Proximo - " I do my duty just as you do yours Mine is to provide light just as yours is to light up the midnight sky Is it not because of me that the earth is green and vibrant ? the heavenly rain that cleanses the air or the pretty rainbow that appears on the earth ? Are they not because of me ? " Proximo sat speechless . The Sun carried on - "I do not seek to underplay your role. The Moon and me both have this divine role to play just as a child needs both his father and mother the earth too needs both of ours loving care and affection " Saying so .. the Sun quietly left Proximo's side smiling and bright as ever. leaving the silent Proximo behind to reflect and soak in the wisdom of the Sun's words. |

Rohit John: Life, Is there more to it? Life, called a mystery by some a beatiful creation of god by others the sweet scent of a flower or the bewitching flight of a butterfly ain't they all a gift from the almighty? What is more amazing, I always thought to myself life itself or the ability to experience life its highs and its lows moments of sorrow and moments of joy Life's journey was always a roller coaster ride with its ups and downs all one could do was to just hold on to dear 'life' and experience those few passing minutes while it lasted. But where does it all end? Are we just specks of dust in cosmic time or does life have any purpose ? the incessant rat race, a race validated by the society where does it all lead to? I asked myself this question time and again never quite finding the answer then it struck me one day, why did life need to have any purpose? aren't we all just mere witnesses? just mere witnesses to seeing this world in all its glory |

Spellbound by your grace, even Juno, the ever watchful Goddess of the full moon has given way. O Aurora, Goddess of the Morning Dawn for years have i, a mere mortal stayed awake through the night just to watch you smile. and smile you did at me selflessly, every single early morning and smile i did at you. like the melting snow under the sweltering sun I wish nothing more than to melt into you the magic of that moment which became the spark and the elixir to make me live through another painful day. |
