dawn53: I wear many nice hats. Nurse, mother, wife, grandma and business owner. Writing is something lining the inside of my heart, but at times feels more like a birth defect.

In high school, I wrote poetry soothing my inner teenage psycho. As a young married woman with a love for teaching, I wrote newspaper articles and submitted stories to professional magazines in-between leading cub scouts or driving daughter to dance lessons.
Now, I've finished my first full length historical novel, Lands Beyond the Sea. It's an adventurous journey of a young woman kidnapped from her family in Scotland and sent on a disastrous voyage to the Australian Penal colony.
Imagine for one moment the Red Tent mixed with the slave ship,Amistad.
I'm finding that selling this story is really hard.

    dawn53: Hello Margaret: The site won't let me post without upgrading and paying.I'm in a real life group already, and that works for me. I'm also not keen on sharing on the internet something that I want to sell. Wouldn't mind sharing prompts or contests, but don't want to pay to do so. Once a cheap Scott....I like the challenge of editing and will continue to do so with hope it helps others as well as helping myself. -
