I am a Jewish immigrant from Russia who moved to the United States in 1990. While living in Russia, I was an editor for the Soviet Encyclopedia. Now, I am a librarian and freelance writer.

One more thing, I appreciate honest feedback -- even if it makes me cringe:)

Currently, I am looking for a publisher for my book "The Education of a Traitor."

The Education of a Traitor is a memoir about a bookish little girl who wanted to be someone her country (the Soviet Union) could admire, but who became disillusioned and alienated from it instead.

Synopsis

A shy and bookish Jewish girl who grows up in Moscow in the shadow of the Second World War dreams about becoming a hero, traveling to exotic countries, and participating in exciting events. Yet the life around her is severely restricted. Limitations are imposed on just about everything: freedom of movement and expression, freedom of information and making your own choices. Also, as the narrator grows older and learns about her family's secrets, she realizes that her country, the Soviet Union, is built on terror, lies, political deception, and hyper-nationalism, and its code of honor is based on false patriotism, pretense, and betrayal of one's family.
