Wendystreet: Allow me to mend what I said a few moments ago... So I used several different online sources that are dedicated to counting syllables & some claim the word "shriveled" has 3 syllables & some say it has 2...and then there are some that say it is spelled "shrivelled" not "shriveled". I suppose the English language has a lot of ambiguity in it & I can't spend too much time thinking about it. Maybe next time, I will try a contest that does not involve any math. |

Methinks it may be time to find a different syllable counter... ;-D - | ||

Wendystreet: I hate to sound like a jerk, but the winners of the 5-7-5 contest were announced and the 1st place winner had six syllables in the opening line...I officially have my doubts that fanstory is very adequate at rating what is good & what isn't...just sayin'. I've only been on Fanstory for a month, but this seems like a pretty big oversight to me...unless our culture has changed the way we count syllables & I just didn't get the memo. |
