Just Pete: This is by way of an explanation rather than an excuse. Those who are kind enough to read my work will no doubt have seen many mistakes in my contest entries. All my life I have lived with a problem. My concentration span is very short. When others learn in one session, it takes me days to understand a lesson. I have trouble following instructions and even at university I lost marks because of it. My mind seems to go its own way. I started a novel a few years ago but when only part way through, I began on another one that came as an idea. I now have four novels to work on and hope I can complete at least one. The bottom line is - I have a learning disorder that costs me dearly. Editing is a nightmare. Thank you for reading this. Pete |

In my capacity as a speech-language pathologist, I am often asked to work with teenagers and adults with moderate-severe attentional difficulties. It sounds as if this has been a lifelong struggle and source of frustration for you. Perhaps you might find a professional in your area who could work with you to practice strategies to improve memory and attention? It's just an idea... Warm regards! Christina - | ||
