Arizona farm boy; high school language teacher, US Diplomat. I spent the last 30 years of my professional career in the US Foreign Service. After serving as a cultural officer for 30 years in Iraq, Colombia, Indonesia, Brazil, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Washington, DC, I retired in 1997.
I wrote poems for special occasions throughout my adult life, but it became a major avocation after I retired. I published a 300 page hardback book of poems in 2011 and have enjoyed sharing reviews with other poets on different websites. I also enter almost every poetry competition that I come across and have won recognition for 17 of my entries as of the latest count.
