boydefender: Hello, my fellow writers. I refer myself as a "writer," although I have not posted anything on this site, yet. I DO enjoy reading the posts of my colleagues, and I also enjoy commenting on various posts. My "stuff" is, I believe, "different" from about everything else on this illustrious site. This is certainly NOT to say that my posts are better or worse, than those of my fellow writers.

I went to my surgeon to day, for a check-up. I am a bit "under the weather." I plan on continuing my reviews of the works of others, as soon as possible. I hope to begin posting on this fine site, within the next several weeks.

boydefender: Hello, everyone.
I am pleased to be a member of this site. I am a member of five other writers sites, and find that my POV is, in general, not appreciated.

My overarching "theme" is the need to face up to, and correct, the on-going disrespectful treatment of America's boys---in movies, on TV, and in society, as a whole. (I have been working on a manuscript for a book, for over a decade. I call this work,
"The 'Dissing of America's Boys." Naturally, since BOYS are the victims of the piece, neither literary agencies nor book publishing houses, have shown any interest in it.

For the past six months, I have written over two hundred "poems" regarding my "crusade" on behalf of boys.

I served in the U.S. Army, from 1967-1970, reaching the rank of Sergeant (E-5.) I graduated from the University Of South Florida (Tampa), with a B.A. degree in Special Education (K-12.)

I worked for Busch Gardens Security from 1974 to 2005. I currently work in private security, at the Port Of Tampa.

My favorite quote is from Davey Crockett: "Be always sure you're right, and then go ahead."

I plan to read several posts from others on this site (and to offer helpful critique), before I offer up any of my posts. If anyone is interested, I have approximately 300 posts on Author Nation.Com, where I write as "b0ydefender."
