shariannegaylee: I have been writing ever since I could pick up a pencil. My first memory of writing was when I was five. My mother had sent me to my room over something I now can't remember-- only that I remember feeling horribly wronged. I found a piece of cardboard and wrote "goodbye cruel world" on it. [Not sure HOW I spelled the words :o)] Then I threw myself on my bed with much weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth.

My mama, God rest her soul, came in and picked up the cardboard. "What's this?" she asked.

"What do you think it is?" I sniffed.

"Looks to me like you want to kill yourself?"

"Well..." I said.

"Well, do you want some help? How 'bout a gun, or a knife?"

Outraged, I huffed, "If THAT's the way you feel about it!", promptly pinched my nostrils shut with one hand and clapped the other over my mouth. (Chuckle, chuckle...melodrama then, comedy now.)

Seriously, I write anything and everything that comes to me on the breath of the Muse. Poetry, short stories, flash fiction, greeting cards, novels (have just completed my first one and have six others in various stages of completion), children's stories and poems, and genres vary by mood. My goal now is to market all that I have "hoarded away", according to my daughter.
