I write in the moment, usually about the moment. My writing is usually a regurgitation of some emotional turmoil that's wringing my gut and I need to get rid of it.
When I review I base my ratings not so much on technicalities but on the simple fact of what it did to me. Did it stimulate emotion, provoke thought, was it clear conceptually, vivid.
To me poetry is a spew of ideas, beliefs, questions or emotions and how do you confine that to structure? I don't know, I'd rather save structure for essays and let anarchy rule poetry...
