Mariea: I spent my early years (20's) working in media in Melbourne - copywriter for channel 9, journalist, media manager and PR consultant. The fast track lifestyle and big money jobs were very plastic, so I opted out. My only brother broke his neck at the age of 18 and lived for a further 9 years in which time he achieved more than most people do in a lifetime - designed the first mouth operated wheelchair, became Australia's leading mouth artist for 3 years, ran a school of correspondence nationally for disabled artists and 3 days after he died received world recognition for his work. I left city life for rural until I married and had 2 daughters, then with the marriage breakdown I once again headed for the bush with my girls. No regrets. Cattle mustering, film stunt work, driving a super V8 etc. You could say I've had a very eventful life, but it's not over yet. At 63 I've still got a lot to do. |
