gschroer: The conference I went to in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, was a wonderful experience. For this 76-year old it was quite tiring, but rewarding. It was a glorious day in Ottertail County, driving the 35 miles from my home to the conference. I wondered why was I leaving my home to attend the conference. Then, about halfway there, on the road, we espied a gathering of about 15 wild turkeys, with one glorious TOM as the head of the family. Then , further along the road, lined with fall colors of leaves, some of them sugar maples with red and gold leaves, we encountered a doe with two fawns (twins). Thankful that we were the ones that encountered them, (and therefore slowed so we didn't hit them), we were indeed thankful that we had decided to go to the conference. |

gschroer: I would like to share that I have just self-published a book with all the proceeds to go to S.A.V.E. (Suicide Awareness Voices for Education). This work encompasses many of my writings over my lifetime. I have published this book in order to pass on my most recent work, a piece about how I was able to overcome the fact that one of my beloved sons took his own life and we were unaware that he was in a depression that didn't allow him to confide in us. I wrote this book in the hope that someone who was suffering the same things I was suffering might be able to cope with the fact, after finding out how I was able to cope with it. |

gschroer: I have had a chapter published in a book by Capital Books, Inc. It is called "From Eulogy to Joy. My chapter is about the birth and death of my granddaughter and how our family handled that tragic circumstance. I felt honored to be included in this book because although there are many mundane, ordinary people as authors, there are also some world-renowned authors. I have also been published in two books put out by Golden Pens Press of Perham, Minnesota and 6 books published by Penpushers Press of Lehigh Acres, Florida. In addition, I have had some poems published and am currently published on Associated Content on the internet and have my own blog called Grandma Gail. |
