Freya Seerwing: Hello everyone, I'll be posting some new stuff in November! Please mind the errors and other bad whatnot, I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year!
DIS-illusioned: Nope I don't mind errors. And will only abide good whatnot. -

Freya Seerwing: Has anyone ever had really tough luck when attempting to write a novel? I have! My computer crashed three times and I lost nearly all of the chapters I had!

Any words of encouragement anyone? Right now, I feel like giving up on the whole venture.
EXMAN. nffc: I can quite well imagine that this sort of thing would dishearten you somewhat. (here we go) But don't let it. If you have a story, then you owe it to yourself to tell it. Your characters deserve to be heard. The harder it is, the better it feels to achieve it.
I've been working on my book for over 10 years. Turtle has rewritten her story 5 times to date and she's still got a couple more to go.
Was the work you lost final draft? If not, then it's not so bad.
Oh, and buy a couple of external hard drives and save back-ups.
    -
Freya Seerwing: Exman, thanks for the advice! One thing I HAVE done is to have an account with an online word processing and email company: Zoho.

I will now save, copy and paste after every writing session. -
ProjectBluebook : Yes,Miss Delvarn, I feel your pain and anguish.I been in your boots, reminiscing the past . . . I lost my first novel. I written approximately, 500 pages, then my computer completed collapsed! It was like sailing . . . in the doldrums, for a spell but I rebounded. Now, I have written a 670 page novel and working on a second. Mysteriously, things happen for some unforeseen reason? "Keep your eyes on the bow and the stern will follow." I'm a newcomer to fan story, however, your stories have captivated me. However, you have time as an ally, God willing. Judging by your work---you have already invested lots of spare time, doing what your heart desires. Simply, you can't get as good as you---overnight! Depend on your trusty sword and defend your castle. Don't let them demons invade or discourage you from your destiny and passion. Sincerely, I would cherish to be your mentor----any day.
My sixth natural sence tells--me, your no quitter and neither am I. I will die with my clutches on my mouse, novels published or not? -
Freya Seerwing: Same here Wacky! if no one picks my book up, the beauty is, I can turn it into an e-book and do it myself lols! -
Catherin Elizabet Belle: Always believe in yourself! No matter how long we have been writing, we can learn. One of the biggest aids in improving my work is in reviewing others work after I joined FanStory.] I write for me, if others find pleasure it what I write that is the 'frosting on the cake' so to speak.[ My husband is one of my great supporters, but he rarely understands what I write, especially the poetry. A second note: I work from a flash drive. I once lost have a book of poetry. The saving grace was that I had printed hard copies, but I still had to re enter. -
Freya Seerwing: I now have a free email account with Zoho that I send draft chapters too and a few SD cards, so I should be ok now.

I really don't want to lose this novel I am working on now. I have a good feeling about this one! -
shelley kaye: go to staples and get a couple flashdrives....

    -
Tedisking: I lost 30,000 words from a novel once when the computer it was on died. I'd emailed what I had to a friend at 25,000 words and recovered it half way. XD Now I email myself novels periodically and use drop box too. -
ProjectBluebook : Glad your still in the game---best wishes! fan & supporter, wackydo. -

Freya Seerwing: Hi hi everyone! Apologies for the long absence from Fanstory. Some real life matters got in the way unfortunately! I am now doing NaNoWriMo and will upload the novel I create for you all to enjoy! Once it is finished lol.
Paradox Tremors: I can understand what you mean about life and the internet not working. But we're be back stronger than ever and I'm here to read. I might be slow at times at reviewing but I'll do it. Welcome back. -
Freya Seerwing: Thanks Paradox! I just hope you all can see IF my writing has improved! -
Freya Seerwing: I'll have part 2 of a Healer and an Oracle up later today! Hope you all look forward to it! -

Freya Seerwing: None of my works are getting recognized at all. Perhaps I should stop or not? Perhaps I'm not good enough after all.
redrider6612: Do you promote? You would be amazed how many more reviews you will get with a cert and a few MCPs. -
Freya Seerwing: What are MCPs red? Can you enlighten me please? I do try and get some certs, but am still not sure how some of them work! -
Freya Seerwing: *Is checking the help section right now. -
Freya Seerwing: New upload coming soon! -
redrider6612: MCPs are Member Cent Pumps. When you post a work, click on "Promote this" and a box will pop up. Buy a treasure chest (the cheaper Pot of Gold isn't worth it, IMO) and use it. Now your poem will stay up in the available release listing for three days, for prose it is four days. Now, to move it up the listing and increase the payout to reviewers (thereby increasing the likelihood that people will read and review it) click "promote" again and add MCPs. The more you use, the higher it goes. You can buy MCPs for $2.95 member dollars each. -
Freya Seerwing: Thank you for the wonderful information Red! I'll start doing that! -
elgone: Never give up. Writing is what we do. Whether you're recognized is never as important as the art you create. -
clumsyninja: So you like Steve Erikson :) I told you :) What did you think of it????? How wicked are the Bridgeburners!!!!! -
Freya Seerwing: Very wicked indeed ninja xD -

Freya Seerwing: I FINALLY have a first draft nearing completion! TALLY HO!!!!
Jennlynne: Congrats! I really am enjoying your work Itharil. Keep it commin! -
Rasp E: Heya lady. I don't have a whole lot of time to write reviews on FS, unfortunately, since I'm up to my eyebrows in things I'm behind on, most days. But -- I wanted to tell you that I've checked out several pieces in your portfolio and you definitely have what it takes. I have no doubt you'll be published one day. :) I just wanted to drop a note of encouragement. :) -
Freya Seerwing: Next part of A Healer and Oracle is on the way! -

Freya Seerwing: Next Chapter of Lythranis up soon! Work has been getting in the way again!

Freya Seerwing: Hey there! I'll be back to posting chapters of my novels soon! Had a rather bad case of writers block, ouch!

Freya Seerwing: This writing lark is fun, but difficult sometimes! I am determined to become a better writer though! Anyone ever feel that way sometimes? XD

Freya Seerwing: WORK IS BORING!!!! It really interferes with writing! Does anyone else have that problem?
Sarah_Goldwell: Yes I have that problem lol. I am going back to work on Friday after two weeks off ;( -
Freya Seerwing: Yup I love having time off work, more time for writing! -
Cletus Hardiman: Hi! I am back, my friend.....But, where are you????? I cannot find anything in your portfolio!!! Cletus ( Clete ) Hardiman -
Cletus Hardiman: Hi, my friend..... Please put something back on the site! You will get lots of exposure, I know! Clete -
