mayflowerbg: I came here 10 years ago and I learned a lot - from other members and from contests. But Fanstory doesn't change. The same ridiculous rules in haiku and tanka contests in which the only criteria for a haiku or tanka is the number of syllables. Beware - the Japanese count sounds, not syllables (the word haiku in English has two syllables, in Japanese it has 3 sounds). Not mentioning the phrase-and-fragment structure, the need of concrete imagery and not author's judgment, etc... If members here pay to display their writing and get proper feedback then give them proper information, not artificial rules.
