FanStory wrote to Jaime Deagle: Poet finished second in the contest "The Creative Process"
    sammielwf: Jaime,
I wanted to say congratulations for the recognition of "Poet" in the creative writing process contest. The question you posed in your writing; Why do I write- was an insightful look into what motivates and drives you as a writer. I liked your responses and this work very much.
    Sammiewlf -
Jaime Deagle: Thanks for the second place. No shame in losing to better work. -

Jaime Deagle: My Book For Sale

http://www.lulu.com/content/paperback-book/sometimes-my-reflection-screams/9782940]

Jaime Deagle: I like to write what I feel, but almost always to an extreme. I find when I try to force a form on my work that it comes out stunted and immature, possibly because I'm an immature writer who can't conform. I like to write poetry best because I find I strike gold more often with poetry. Striking gold for me is infrequent but I know that other writers out here have felt it. The perfect words that form the perfect line that express exactly what you want just as you want it. That is an amazing feeling. Its a rush. It would be nice to hit gold every line all the time but it never happens that way for me. When it does happen though, that is the only time I truely feel like what I've written is good.
djsaxon: Forget 'immature' and 'conform' for starters. You are apologising for your honesty, and that is a crock. We all of aspire to striking gold, but sometimes find ourselves panning for it in the wrong stream. Perfect is elusive. An ongoing challenge. Some of the highly ranked poets (no names) on FS manifest as formulaic. Random thoughts and images that invite us all to bow before their illustrious pens. Not this old black duck, LOL. Trust your heart and continue to raise the quill - DJ -

Jaime is an acquired taste! Jaime is thick and wordy and often has grammatical and spelling mistakes in poems as that is something she still struggles with. In her opinion, the original feel and flow are essential and it makes her struggle with editing making this site all the more critical for improving her writing.
