Wow, that was impressive. Not only staying true to the unique format, but consistent in rhythm. Love you poetic word and style choices (i.e. the use of apostrophes for rhythm). My fave stansa was the one that placed the reader's thumb on a particularly painful bruise:
Questions arise now ev'ryday -
Revolution's not so far away:
Semantics exploit fear and rage
Tight'ning our nation's pressure gauge...
And some still refuse to recognize it.

Nice work.

Thanx so much, Tom! Not only for your comments, sir, but for those awesome stars and what they have to say as well! :) ;) This was my first poem in a while that I actually had the time to sit and think and let the muses loose (LOL!)... just so much going on these days, ya know?! ;) Hope this finds you with a smile for the day and happiness to share: goodness knows this world needs so much MORE of both! :) ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

Outstanding reflections upon the contemporary environment we live in today; indeed, in our hearts we all recognize, but some refuse to accept for expedient reasons; another winner for you my friend.

Wow and wow! Love this patriotic offering. I really wonder if the masses will understand this in the sea of corruption and lies consuming our nation. Thanks for shining light and truth from your Patriot's heart. U is my favorite: unguarded liberty can't last. I pray we hold the line. Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the contest. (In the bag in my opinion.)

Superb, my friend. :);)

Thanx so much, Lady Sal, but don't hold your breath on that bag there - lol!!! Your praise is humbling as are those awesome stars! :) ;) This state of things right now has me heartsick.... and this was my first poem in a while that I actually had the time to sit and think and let the muses loose (LOL!)... ;) Hope this finds you with a smile for the day and happiness to share: goodness knows this world needs so much MORE of both! :) ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

I told Jackson about this wonderful piece. It takes such courage to stand in a world so deluded. Thank you, dear one. Sal XOs....

I read all these reviews. Most get it, but surprisingly, many did not. Nothing is worse than than the eye that refuses to see. The propaganda in the news has poisoned many and I weep. If we lose our freedoms in our constitution I fear we'll never get them back. Our worst enemies are within our nation, not without, dear friend.

I like the ending you put a little twist on the format. Good entry. The whole bag o' letters in one pot. Your effort shines with this poem. Thanks for sharing.

I can't say I would disagree,
just wish and hope humanity
kills ev'ry vain, corrupted urge,
laments the need to so submerge
the truth from those who would emerge our leaders.

FABULOUS ABC!

I've commented on your work before, and I know Mrs. Roger was your mother's name, but you've outdone yourself with this poem! I'm starstruck. How you used the alphabet to create such a compelling poem is beyond me. Thank you for sharing.

Hello, Yvette,

Wow, girl, you used the whole alphabet! That's awesome. Good topic, we have some horrible civil unrest, covid19, Trump crazy, and the fires due to men stupidity mixed with climate change...I pray for us all. Good job my friend.

I wish I were not out of six stars. This poem shows really awesome talent, not only have you used every letter but you have really SAID something worth saying here. This is really good!

A super talented effort, illustrating its projected course in a delightful conveyance of ideals and views for reader to consider. Very strong line structuring in my given viewpoint.

This is well done, you have fulfilled the alphabet bit to a "T" it seems to me, but in doing so you lose me. I have read the poem twice and I do not know what it is about. The first two lines of the last stanza come about as close to a "meaning" as I can see here -- "unguarded liberty cannot last." But what are the threats to it? Well, save that for another poem.

Thanks
Wabigoon/Jeff

Thanx so much, Jeff, for dropping by for a review on this one!! ;) And let's just say 'it says what it says'... and if that is 'nonsense' to you, then 'nonsense' it is (wink, wink)! :) ;) Be sure to stop in again sometime, sir, and take care out there! ;) Yvette
