Ron, you cracked me up.
To infuse ordering pizza into Greek mythology took your kind of ingenuity, and even if this was a blind contest, I'd guess, it's you.
Poetically, this sonnet is brilliantly written, with iambic meter, rhythm, the volta in the 9th line and all else in place. But I really enjoyed the modern humor here, including getting a free pizza if your delivery is late (lol).
And I liked how the obliging shark took care of the man (lol), when the delivery man didn't like Poseidon't bold responses.
I see this as a winner. There may be many apt sonnets, but not as good as this.
Good luck in the booths. You got my vote.

I like limericks but sadly voters on here don't appreciate when your piece is actually bawdy (like a limerick should be.) It seems like if you write to appeal to 3rd graders in a limerick, that's what gets the votes. I'm not sure why but it happens nearly every time. I'll give it some thought though. I seldom care what other people think. LOL. I might step over the line a little. Just letting you know.

There are still almost 3 weeks till the deadline. Only one of my entries so far is actually bawdy, It's not a hard requirement (lol). Oh, if you want to earn some member dollars, I have a sonnet at the top if the front page.

This is very humorous. I laughed out loud after reading the punch line. Great combination of what could be a current event with a character from mythology. The striking pose of a hunky Poseidon was well crafted and effective in adding more humor and good times to the story poem. You are quite the craftsman when it comes to creating a powerful image out of many different Google images. I wouldn't know how to begin. Your talent shows not only in this creation but, in writing a funny and poignant story as well. I love it all, but my favorite line is the mocking, "Hey, dolphin freak, I think your sundial's wrong." Very clever and a good segway into what was going to happen next. The pizza guy clearly mocked the wrong God. Well written with superb talent. Thanks for the uplifting fun.
