Oh I am so ANGRY with this (in)justice system! Somebody made a mistake? He is a human being who has done his time and you both were to happily anticipating the 20th as your reunion! He gets five extra days which will do what? Rehabilitate him MORE? No! It would make ME more bitter about the mind games those with a bit of power play. Meanwhile Trump's buddies are getting CLEMENCY! I'm SO sorry but they are playing with hearts here and that just bites!--Karenina

This is a heart-breaking piece to read and I can feel your longing for your partner to be released. I did just notice one typo as I was reading: way to long since I've - to should be too here. Overall a well written piece of writing.

That's very sweet of you to say, thank you! Thank you also for remembering us on that day. We live 45 minutes apart so I won't see him until the 26th for a few days then off he's going to be back home! He lives with and takes care of his 86 yr old mother so I am not going to disrespect her by moving in the house, no I'm going to move in the small house outside in backyard;-) By the beginning of the new year I will be moved!

Beautiful but heart-wrenching poetry! My heart breaks not just for the extra five days, but for the year that you and your partner have suffered through this prison term.
Many years ago, I had a romance with someone in prison. I spent some time with him after his release, but he wasn't who I thought he was, and it was a relationship that was not meant to continue. I eventually got over it, and married my husband, with whom I found a deeper love. But my point is this: I identified so closely with his experience, that I dreamed of being in jail, myself, and it was a very oppressive experience, so burdensome to the soul! So I want you to know that I have some understanding of what you are suffering, with the man you love. You are so faithful to him in your prayers during his incarceration, and I will be joining you in prayer for him during this time -- praying for you both. May God bless you and keep you both, and your family!

He's only inside for a year and six days today so he's not going to have problems adjusting to anything! Did you read the Author's notes?
He was 57 when he was arrested with NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, on his record;-) That's AMAZING and most cannot say that!

Trump signed into law a provision concerning this and how to help people when released. Not sure what it all covers but it will help him. Do look into it.
My daughter is a Parole Officer.

Thank you however he's not a hardened criminal that's been in for a long time, he's only been in there for a year and six days today;-) He had nothing on his record before this, nothing at all. But I'm glad there are programs out there for that because it is hard on them once released because my ex brother in law was inside a long time, two or three times and needed that help and didn't receive any of that;-(
