This tanka, In a Flash, looks good and seems to suggest a view to the window where God comes, like a thief in the night, into our reality.

Hello, Yvette,
Lovely spiritual Tanka with a beautiful presentation. Good syllable count and connection between lines. In classic Tanka, the third line is supposed to be a pivot into the last two lines. I don't see it but perhaps this is a Contemporary tanka.
Well done my friend. Good luck in the contest.

I think this is a lovely entry for the Tanka Poetry contest.
The verse is very nicely done and inspires reflection.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

The profound message is really clear in this contemplation. Sometimes it takes a collision of sorts to grab our attention and alert us to what we should have been aware of.
"our soul awakens" The beauty of the art and your words, sing.

Really beautiful, and uplifting, Yvette. Great art! Your colors, as always, are magnificent. Progression of the colors. Gold and blue are heavenly colors. The rays of light. Awakening of the soul. We long for this, and pursue this enlightenment.
Well done!

Nice work, and closer to the spirit of a true tanka than so many that appear here. The tanka should be a congenial form for me--it fits my mind processes--but your post points out to me that I have a way to go yet.....RH

Thanx so much for your review on this one, RH -- so good to hear you thought it 'in the Tanka realm'... never sure about all the guidelines and such on these! ;) :) Be sure to stop by again sometime, sir... :) Take care out there and have a sunshiny week of wonder! ;) Yvette

I'm surely no expert. I rely mostly on Jane Hirshfield. She's such a lovely poet and essayist--how could she possibly be wrong about haiku and tanka?

This is excellent and a great addition to the Tanka contest. Your pivot line is very strong. Best of luck in the contest, good work on the poem and thank you for sharing. Later daze.

Ah yes when the veil has been rent we see into eternity. This is a terrific tanka, Yvette. I like how you have used to title to lead right into the haiku-like first two lines and the satori our soul awakens causes a moment of great insight.
Best of luck to you with the Contest Committee with this gem.

Well, Gloria, I will certainly take that as a wonderful compliment from you - THANK YOU!! ;) I keep Pantygynt's guidelines in my desk drawer, but with so much happening in my life right now, I wasn't feeling "nature-eey" and such!! :) So, as I've told a couple of other folks, I shall wear my defiance with style - LOL!! ;) :) Take care out there, my lady, and may you have a beautiful week of wonder! ;) Yvette

You call it whatever you like -- fine by me as long as you post it so I can read it. It's a wonderful tanka. I cannot imagine anything better (and I have one entered too). LOL. Good luck, my friend. Six stars, if I had any left!!!

Yvette my friend, regrets that I don't have a six; outstanding entry and a winner for me/great depth in the tanka, expressed in choice vocabulary/picture perfect presentation.

Thank you for your wonderful review, my friend! And, even though I hate to ask (but being that 'shy' is really not who I am - lol!), if you thought it deserved six, how come the demotion to only four? Again, it is certainly your prerogative to do so, but could you at least let me know what should be 'corrected' or 'adjusted' as such is the purpose of the four stars...? ;)
Here's sending you warm wishes for an awesome remainder of the weekend!! ;) ;) Take care out there! ;) Yvette

I apologize my friend, that was an inadvertent error, corrected; sorry again.

No worries (and no apologies, PLEASE!!)!! ;) ;) The blonde was just a bit confused - lol!! You take care out there and enjoy the remainder of the weekend!! ;) ;)
