Thank you for your comments. I have been to Athens and seen and touched this building. I've been fascinated for a long time with classical architecture.

Very classic - lean and high-minded. I like that you pull the mathematical element of the Parthenon into the mix - how the column proportions (allegedly) use the Golden Ratio. Nice alliteration - the poem even looks like a pillar. I can see why this won - congrats!

Nicely done, Lisa May. You made a very intelligent comment in only 15 syllables, and did so with an excellent use of alliteration. It brings back nice memories, as my husband and I went to Greece for our 20th anniversary, and our hotel in Athens was within site of the Parthenon.

Thanks for your encouraging comments. I have a soft spot for Greece... been there a couple of times in the seventies, and i also had a Greek boyfriend in Australia for 3 years when i was in my twenties... nearly married him, too, but he hit me, so I ended it immediately.

Good, Lisamay, I'm glad you when with Parthenon pillars. Built long ago and still standing. It reminds me of a court-of-law where you go to and get sentenced to life. We don't have many structures that are hand made cause they keep falling down. :) Good entry for the 15 Syallable Poem contest.
