I too, hope for a cure for your daughter. I'll send a prayer for her to our Lord, Who seems, at the moment, to be the only One Who can help a bit. I had some trouble with the word "hair-shirt" What is that? Also "discomfiture" sounds a bit awkward and made-up to make the rhyme.
Bit you wrote a genuine plea for your daughter. I wish her the best!

Thanks for the read and comments. Hair-shirt is a form of punishment. I am not completely at ease with discomfiture (no pun intended) however, it is the only word I could think of that makes some sense.

You are welcome. I was not familiar with the word hair-shirt. Thanks for explaining!

Wonderful prayerful piece to help family, cannot get much better than that in theme. Not finding if this is a true story within, if so, prayers there. Well done, regardless - nice flow and wordsmith.

Unfortunately, the ode is based on a true story. We pray every day that pain is reduced. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment. Thank much for the prayers.
