Congratultions for this wonderful poem, each poem you write worth the prize.. I liked very much the subject, and eventhough some words were difficult for me, due to the fact that I'm Greek, it kept me going...

The metaphors you use in this lovely Sonnet are so apt because they are so much like life. Each day presents a new fabric that needs great thought and repair. The weaving repairs the broken parts of yesterday. Much like compositions of chosen words that connect in a meaningful way. Well Done.

"For poets can, at times, rework remains
with careful, stitched-up words to form a quilt,
a patchwork made of fragments from their brains -
a Xanadu of pleasures that's rebuilt." Lovely! :)Ralf

Well done this is beautiful. It reminds me of the poem by Tennyson I think which starts with in Xannadu a pleasure dome decree...

Wonderful imagery. I imagine Coleridge would have such thoughts running through his awesome mind when he was composing Xanadu. Perfect pitch and rhyme in classic sonnet form. If I had to lose, I "dips me lid".

I will be shocked if you do not win this contest, Tony. Shocked. I can't begin to tell you how much I admire your words because I love them all. I'll pick my favorite. I like your metaphor of dreams as "tattered veils of thought." Then you develop the metaphor with poets reweaving those strands using the dream remains as wefts (I had to look that up).
Outstanding.

Splendid words - warp and weft! I'm so glad that you haven't needed to be shocked! The committee found in my favour. Perhaps they read your glowing review! LOL
Thank you so much for the sixth star.

In my opinion, I thought I had finished rating "Exceptional" reviews today, then I encountered this one, and could rate it no less than the coveted Six Stars, especially for a sonnet, which has been my nemesis to date - loved my read...

A great path with sign posts to enhance the journey.

Dreams can be inspiring and informative. Unfortunately the memory of the dream is "...not made from whole cloth..."

We must search our brains to relocate the fragments of our dreams that have been dispersed to different years and categories, places and emotions.

Testimony sought to be used in a trial will be challenged because of the susceptibility of suggestions and fragmentation of recollections.

Nevertheless, I have often been able to create the picture on the
puzzle box, with many pieces missing, and have a starting point.

A well presented poem with an appropriately blurred, dreamlike, and colourful picture. This dreamlike quality is carried through into the wording which grabs the reader. Great selection of words around a magnificent idea. Like it. Good luck in the sonnet poetry contest. ~Mel~

I can see from your poem that you are an educator, a writer and a romantic. Personally, my dreams are sometimes so vivid and unsettling that when I do awake, I'm thrilled that they are only a part of a misdirected imagination. I'd much prefer your concept of dreams, but I don't see that happening at my age. Best wishes.
