In my opinion, a lovely verse and so true, I agree - a striking, artistically rendered and pleasing presentation - fully compliant with the prompt. Best wishes in the contest with this charming write...

Yes, I agree different smells are tied to our memories and have the power to instantly transport us back in time in time. Just thinking of freshly mowed grass now, however, all that does for me these days is remind me to tell my sons that the grass needs mowing LOL! Wish you well with your entry.

Great comparison of two very different things, but still releasing the same emotion inside of you! The photo really adds to the poem, making it completely immersive. Great job and good luck in the contest!

Bichon ~ Thank you for your thoughtful review.

The words and the picture are poignant reminders of so many things. Freshly cut grass is in many pictures that form my memory. So many times we have experienced events with that aroma wafting.

A very well-written Cinquain about the refreshing smell of grass just cut that makes anyone take a deep breath to enjoy. The smell of coffee early morning wakes up everyone in the house.

LOL! Right on, my girl! I agree with you. I like both of those aromas, but there is nothing like that first cuppa coffee in the morning. Best of luck in the contest. Marilyn

Ah yes, the first cup of coffee in the morning. It has to be a good one. I'm always on the go first thing with taking my kids to school so I have my favourite coffee places that know how to kick start my day. Thanks for your nice review :-) ~DD

Hello, my friend,
Wonderful cinquain poem about the smell of grass and coffee. The ending is kind of funny. I know what you mean about the smell of freshly cut grass. Good job.

Thank you Gypsy Blue Rose for your thoughtful review. Yes, the ending brings us right back into the now. Coffee has a way of doing that to people... me especially :-) ~DD

I like the smell of coffee but can't drink it. The smell of cut grass is very distinct but it was never the same for me after I read that it's the grass's way of communicating that it was cut. I know, too many plant lover's articles - but will keep eating veggies!
Best wishes in the contest!

Thank you Helen for now possibly killing a much loved childhood charm - the smell of cut grass. Put down that plant lover's article now! Thank you, also, for your thoughtful review :-) ~DDxx

Sorry!! Okay, I put down that article. It hasn't stopped me from weeding, either. ☺

-Nice image and
presentation, DD.
-Your note is appreciated.
-The syllable count is good,
and the use of one continuous
thought is effective.
-A good topic and imagery.
-The images of the grass
and aromas appeal to our senses.
-A good ending, for coffee drinkers:)
-Good luck in the contest.
