I love that you use mostly dialogue in the story. It gets the point across and breaks up what could be long narrative passages. Excellent writing skills.

Thanks. I've found it's much easier to develop characters using conversation rather than narration. Glad you liked it.

Seems Aaron will be king whether he wants to be or not, though he will continue to receive as much assistance as he requires. Sounds like he better get some sleep, he is going to need it.

Hi Cindy. Your story is so well described. I like the way this chapter ends with Aaron unable to think about everything. Goodness knows we all have those days sometimes. Marilyn

Nice chapter and I like how you add human character to the dragons that by default think will royalty just like Aaron. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

This is a great chapter, Cindy. I enjoyed all the discussions about whether Aaron would or would not become king. It seems that he must to protect the dragons. I can feel the bond between Aaron and the dragons. I like what he said no kind would live with eleven dragons and a box of chickens. There are plenty of tangents to follow in the next chapters. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan

Thanks. Yes, he will do whatever he has to to protect the dragons. They don't always make it easy. Glad you enjoyed.

Hi Cindy, I've somehow managed to get away from reading this story, and that is a shame, because I really liked it. I'm catching up with the dragons, yet again. They are lovely. As you know, I'm not into fantasy writing, but this is so well written. Ulla;)))

This is a great continuum to your story. It's well-written, very interesting. I love the bits of humor you through in. The way you showed everyone's characters, their different personalities. Dragons and chickens in the castle, Aaron will be the talk of the town in more ways than one, nice job. I look forward to reading more.

Thanks. I don't think he'll keep the chickens, but the dragons will be with him for a while.

I am growing to love these dragons! lol

Just a few points for you to think about:

Mountain rubbed his head against his hand and looked into his eyes. - I might have said '... looked into Aaron's eyes'

This time sleep eluded him. - I might have put a comma after 'time'

After about an hour of trying without success to sleep, - maybe consider 'After about an hour of trying to sleep without success ...'

The dragoyles chittered. - you used a capital for 'dragoyles' earlier.

Stay safe

Judy
