Hi, I am commenting on the poem without taking any of the author's other comments here into consideration.
I like the idea that the narrator suppresses truths in contrast to others who speak truths, and for me there is a clear connection between line 2 and line 5, which makes this feel complete. I like when an idea from the beginning comes back at the end of the poem.
I do not understand the statement "Under law I ride," unless that refers to restrictions placed on the narrator that limit his ability to speak the truth?
And, I'm wondering if the word hide is the word "void?"
This is quite thought-provoking and I appreciate the chance to share my thoughts. Thanks!

Your way is in the hiding of the truth, Alcreator. There is a lie when love is in self-pride. A liar does not have pride because they hide the truth. Your 5-7-5-7-7 is unique, there are many liars in the world that take advantage with their forked tongue. Thank you for sharing.

Well, I think the hidden word is "trues". I despise liars, and what's worse is when people begin to believe their own lies, and in fact, there is some science behind that and why different people can recall the same memory differently. Thanks for sharing.

Your poem shares an observation about human behavior. Many people lie and some feel no guilt for lying. I like the way you expressed some of the possible reasons why someone might tell a lie or share a half-truth. Ultimately, this type of person doesn't want to be caught. You've explained the scenario very adequately and reminded us that God always knows the truth.

When a liar tells a lie, to whom does he lie? Does he lie to himself only, or is it to anyone who will listen and accept whatever he says. If he believes that he will always get away with his lies, then he is definitely lying to himself, and he will be found out.

I cannot find the hidden word but caught the gist of this poem I believe.
Don't lie, even if tempted to embellish the truth. Even if it feels good in the moment to deviate from the truth, it will come back to plague you in the end.
Good message to convey!

Lying never gets anyone anywhere. It will come back to haunt the liar someday. Maybe not today. Maybe not tomorrow. But it will come back and bite you in the back eventually. Tell one lie then you have to tell ten more lies to cover up the first one. Good job!

We should guard our tongues, they can get us into a lot of trouble. Once again, with God's help we can control what we say. We should speak only to the glory of God. Thank you for sharing.
