The bible gives guidance and teaches us to respect each other and love rather than hate. I enjoyed your 5-7-5, faithful words here . . . . love Dolly x

Hello Zanya, now this is a bible story with a difference. Of course, when we give it a thought they were, as you say, folks like us. This is a good 5/7/5 with good enjambment throughout. A good, honest write - I particularly like your third line. Good Luck in the contest. Warm regards Dorothy xx

Well said! I agree that the wonderful thing about the Bible stories is that they are so honest about the people with all their faults and yet walking in faith. Best wishes in the contest!

That's the good thing among many about the word of God. People in the word of God are just like us with the same strengths and weaknesses as we have. I love the message of this and enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done!

I think I realised when I came under the focus of God, I realised that I needed to be changed, because I lacked "scruples" the Old Testament is there to reveal our imperfection, which the folk in there were. Same as us. Beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

A fun entry. Yes, they did have families and jobs and trials, just in different times. We could use a few miracles right about now. Good luck in the contest and have a enlightening weekend, cheers, judester

I enjoyed this touching entry for this contest. I loved that you made the point that folks in Biblical stories are much like us on earth today. Though many weren't full of love and scruples, that is the message. Good luck in the contest.

This is a great 5-7-5 contest entry. The words are clear and concise, yet they flow nicely at the same time. That can be very tricky with these little syllable poems. The image you chose is absolutely perfect to accompany your writing, Good luck in the contest!

...and causing trouble - at times. Good poem - one could write on about some of the adventures Bible characters get into. And are rescued by God - or condemned also. I'm reading through Jeremiah right now. God had plenty to say about His chosen people.
Nice poem

Really interesting to hear peoples' views on the Bible - amazing what this little number brought in on the tide, so to speak! so how is reading Jeremiah going ! zanya

Jeremiah is intereting. God tells Jeremiah plainly what will happen to Israel if they don't repent - then He says, but if they repent...God is merciful.
