A very well-written 5-7-5 poem about love's passion make great use of the cozy setting at the fireplace. An excuse to relax in wintertime because it is too cold to go outside anyway.

This is a nice entry for the 575 poem contest. I love your picture of the crackling fireplace and your words describe it well. One issue: fireplace is only two syllables, so that line has 6 instead of 7 syllables. I know it sounds like three, and I personally always thought it was until recently. Good job overall.

Thanks so much! I assumed that since ?fire? is two syllables, ?fireplace? would be three, but you?re right, it says two! Ha! I?ve corrected it now! Appreciate your help!

I like the play on words of this piece, it seems to be a wonderful metaphoric connection between the two expressions of heat generation. Well done, an excellent entry in this contest, good luck, blessings, Roy

I don't know which ignited more passion, the picture or the poem. Any poem that can stir the emotions like this one is certainly deserving of a win in the contest.
