Phyllis was one of the first folks to make me feel welcome here on FanStory -- she will always be remembered by me as the wonderful lady with the puppy (being visual, that's how I remember things). Since then here writings and her stories have touched me even when I didn't think I could be 'touched' after a long week... :) Your mom, as I am sure you are painfully aware, was awesome! :) Yvette

What a beautiful and touching tribute to your mom! Obviously her wonderful qualities have been passed on to you. I only start recently and have not had the pleasure of knowing her as well as others, but I'm sure she was as happy to be here among these wonderful people as I am. I believe we choose when we go in a lot of cases. So this does not surprise me. When one is tired of being tired, they are ready so no matter how heavy your heart is, suffering just to stay is never an option. Her gift of love was shared with the works through this site and will always remain inside your family's heart to continue blessing you all. xoxo

I did not know how ill she really was. It is amazing to me the joy and zest she still had through it all. She has been a powerful example.
Her humor and helpful insight, I know, has been uplifting to many here not only as writers, but on personal levels also.

Thank you for sharing this with us. We all loved your mom, and called her a friend. I know she helped me often with my writing and I will miss her friendship. My prayers are with her family and friends.

Your post is heartwarming, lovely. Your mom and I joined FanStory the same year (2012). We shared a lot over the years. She always answered my questions about grammar, etc., promptly. I teased her about being the "grammar guru." What I liked best about your mom was her straightforwardness. With Phyllis, I always knew what was on her mind. She'll be missed here. I'm so, so sorry to hear of your mother's passing. I have always found her to be a kind and gentle woman, with nothing but encouraging words to say. The beautiful poem you posted of hers suggests that she knew what was coming and was ready to accept it, so I hope she finds the peace and comfort she craved when health conditions became difficult. My condolences to you and your family. I hope you find comfort as well, knowing your mom is in a better place. Thank you very much for undertaking the difficult task of letter her FanStory family know of her passing.

Hello Katy, I'm so glad to know that your mother got to do all of those many things before she had to go... and that she found so much fun here on Fanstory. I didn't have a chance to really know her but from all I've heard, she was a wonderful and special lady. I'm so sorry for your loss.
