I am very sorry for your loss. I know exactly how you feel, I lost my mom in 1995 to cancer. It was good to hear this community helped her quality of life. You're family is in my prayers.

I don't know if there is life after death, but i hope if there it is, that your mom will all the things she missed while she was stack in her tower. For sure she will be missed, and I am so sad that another brilliant writer left us with broken hearts. May she rest in peace and watch over us here and put a good word with the big Boss for us:) Thank you, Phyllis for your kindness and great heart.

I am so sorry to hear that Phyllis has passed, although I love to think of her free from pain and hiking in the mountains and the beautiful outdoors that she liked so much. My condolences to you and your family, and thanks for posting this beautiful tribute.

I shall miss her as well. I was always looking forward to reading her work, I especially her writes about the Penguin family. It was fun for me as my oldest daughter had the nickname Penny Penguin. I also loved reading the Bowl of Stew. May God comfort your heart and that of your dad.

Phyllis always listened when she read my stories. She helped me to believe in myself as a writer and a person. Her words and small criticisms echo in my mind now. Without knowing her, I can only say this to those family members who loved her. What a wonderful woman, What a great soul, welcoming , believing , cherishing all of you and others. People she never met, yet nutured, telling them they were special and had words to say. Thank you for sharing her with me. Thank you for her mentorship for me and most of all. her poems and writings always echoed her love for you , her family. Greatness. that is who she was.

I have not had the pleasure of any strong online relationship with your mother, but I have now read some of her works and seen comments from many I respect on this site. She seems to have been a wonderful, kind personality as well as a talented writer. I can simply add my most sincere condolences to you and your family.
