"Jarrod's feet commanded his attention" and "Faye's snaps were legendary among her charges" are great visual phrases!

I loved the beast's name that the babysitter was blaming .... Freckles!!!

I was caught by surprise by a troll with allergies.... loved it.

What a delightful story and what an interesting surprise twist at the end. At first I thought the twins were just stalling bedtime. The dialogue was realistic and flowed very well. Having raised three boys just as you have, I can relate to it. I believe this creative story has a great chance of winning .

-Proper start meets contest requirement

-The battle to get the boys to bed begins as is often the case with babysitting. Story reveals her clients are being raised by a single father who she may have an interest in

-"for few seconds" --- should this be "for a few seconds"?

-seems the boys have quite a time explaining the noise they heard

-Drustan is a nice little twist to the story, and "Fay" is revealed to be a fairy

-well crafted story

This is a delightful magical entry for the sentence prompt contest, Yvette. Jerrod and Gerald sound like my two oldest sons born a year apart. They were always stirred by outside noises and called for midnight investigations. I, however, was no fairy. ;)
Sending you my best today as always, and best wishes for the contest,
Sally xo

Yvette,
I absolutely LOVED this! It was a wonderfully spun tale. It shows you have an in-depth knowledge of the inner workings of young boys!(wink, wink-mom of boys) I was delighted by the interaction of Faye and the boys and the snotty troll. Good luck in the contest, though I don't think you will need it!
Blessings, Beth

This is a delightful story. I liked the way you lead the reader to assume the story was about one thing when really it was about another. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

This post displays an in-depth knowledge of the psychology of young boys! I was thoroughly entertained by the dialogue between Faye and her young charges. I imagine that there would be quite a few babysitters in the world who would give their eye teeth for such magical powers! A delightful twist at the end. This one will be hard to beat in the contest.

Great story. Very enjoyable and I'm glad there wasn't a monster or somesuch outside!

Just a couple of small points:

You have two different spellings for Jerrod/Jarrod.
Jerrod appeared to duck his head until Gerald nudged him.

"Jarrod?" Might as well go to the weakest link first - and later it's Jerrod again.

Have you ever heard a Maine Coon Cat cough up a hairball - should 'cat' be lower case?

"Dru! Cover you mouth!" - should be 'cover your mouth'

Best of luck
Judy

We're getting name changes here too! LMHO It's Judy - not that it matters. You've got me correct in the next one. :)

Sorry -- was at (doing a class observation...ugh) and started with a J-word and I guess the fingers did the rest -- I did give you the review credit, yeah? Let me know and my apologies...
Of course, now I'm wondering who Joan is...

I wish I had six stars but I used them up!
This is a delightful tale I knew there was something special about the babysitter Faye.
In the very end you find out.
I loved the twins and they were adorable.
And, I thought they were actually imagining some strange noises.
And, a strange outside creature like that hides in the closet at night!
Well done and thanks.

Hi there,

I rather enjoyed this piece. It's enchanting and very like a lot of the stories I read to me daughter. It develops nicely in a playful way. yeah, very nice. I hope it does well.

Jerrod appeared to duck his head / "Jarrod?" Might as well go - change in name spelling.

And di-," Faye began, - need opening speech marks here and I don't think you need the comma after the dash.

on the bottom bunk so Jerrod could climb in.

"Don't you worry yourselves." She kissed Jerrod'- spelling of name changes again here.

All the best
G
