Reading your poem about pebbles brought happy memories to mind..
....for many years I lived close to a lake and one of my favourite past-times as a kid/teen was to search for pebbles.
I loved the smooth feel and the various shapes and colours .. . I always fantasied about their origin too......unlike you though, I would collect and keep the ones I considered most precious in different shaped bottles and decorate my bedroom and other places around the house with them.

I like this. Not a quaint phrase like "methinks" in it -- I think that was you? You have a good point here and make it in few words.
Here are a couple of things I noticed:
Walking near water()s edge needs an apostrophe
with all (their) might You're plural here so it would be "eddies" I think. yes?
(of pebbles) These words simply do not seem necessary to me in a poem that is, otherwise, really tight and spare -- though big and rich in meaning. I'd drop them.

This poem creates such a clear image in my mind that I can only admire the skill with which it is written. Also, I like that this makes one wonder about some of the same things that the character from the poem wonders.
