They might not speak the same language, but animals like these dogs can definitely understand what is going on.That was a bittersweet but nice story. I am glad somebody went to the animals and hopefully took care of them. God bless you :)

Thank you very much.

This is such a sad story and even more so because it is true. Dogs are faithful and non-judgemental. They would be a real comfort to a homeless person. Good luck in the contest.

Ah, what a sad story. I feel bad for the homeless man as well as his four dogs. They must have really loved him. Great job and thank you for sharing.

I think this is a good entry for the True Story Flash contest.
Your short story is clear and well told. And rather sad.
Well done and good luck to you with the contest.

When people give up on us there is always ones who will befriend us, they are called dogs. Is it any wonder that dog spelled backwards is God. God never gives up on us either.

Hello Sanku. That is a touching story and in some ways shows the attachments that animals have to humans are more compassionate than human attachments are sometimes. The doggies are less judgmental. Good luck in the contest. Robert

I've seen many cases why both dogs and cats sense the death of their family members. This is particularly sad since it seems these dogs will probably not be adopted. Very nicely written and hand counted for the contest.

I can certainly relate to this heart warming true story flash.
I'm retired, and I dog walk two dogs for a young couple when they are at work. I think both dogs have separation anxiety, they go berserk when the couple returns.
Well Written overall!

Hi Sanku. This is a wonderfully written story of the sensitivity and loyalty of animals who love and need us. A touching write that is all too often played out when an owner dies. Best of luck in the contest. Marilyn

Yes, there's an unbelievable bond dogs have with their owners--you have to see it to really appreciate it fully. Those dogs were that homeless man's family and they knew it. I enjoyed reading your contest entry, Sanku, although it is poignant. Hopefully the dogs found a home Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan
