A lovely Minute for the contest. I love the metaphor of the sea as the boundless source for ideas and contemplation of words. Yes, there is refuge in writing. Well done. - Wendy

Aaaaah, yes, to sit back and pull up the rudder and just our minds drift through thoughts and dreams and more - such a cool Minute, Ron, that creates a WONDERFUL atmosphere that draws the reader in and puts them out there along with you.... making sense out of the driftwood of the mind!! ;) :) Thanx for sharing and best of luck in the contest! ;) Yvette

Hey, Yvette, hello. Thank you so much for the fantastic review and gracious stars. That's the best place to find great stuff, just drifting in thought. Too bad there's sometimes when the water's a little bit shallow though, lol. I'm glad you liked the piece. have a wonderful day. Thank you again.

This is deep and satisfying for me as a writer and a lover of the sea. The presentation is beautiful with a lovely picture of a boat at sea in the twilight. I cannot tell if it is sunrise or sunset, but it doesn't seem to matter. I love your choice of words, such as "this poet's guide" and "The ocean's vast where verse is sought". Such a wonderful way to write about the search for the muse. The flow is impeccable as are the rhymes. My favorite verse is the last one where you have a climactic ending of, "Each word so clear, There's refuge here." This is very well written, and speaks to all of us, who are writers, searching for that ever-elusive stream of conscious that (hopefully) pours out into a poem. Thank you for sharing your talent.
Take care, Jesse

Wow, thank you for the outstanding review and giant sixer, Jesse. I've written a couple that goes this route, following our thoughts wherever the tide takes them. I really appreciate the generous stars, friend. I'm glad you liked my little piece. Have a great day and thank you again for the fantastic review.

Hello Ron.
I was very impressed with this piece. Perhaps I will find time to check out your portfolio and see where the tide takes your thoughts.
I am glad you liked my review. And, the poem, was well worth the six stars. Have a wonderful week.
Take care, Jesse

These endless seas can be the literal oceans or the hidden depths of our hearts and minds, where our muse sometimes hides. Either way, worth exploring to get inspiration for our creative juices going. I enjoyed this minute poem.

This is such a lovely piece of work with lilting rhythm .I love the metaphorical image of sailing and the rhymes merge easily with the flow of lines. I am such a clumsy rhymer ...!All the best for the contest.

Thank you for the great review, Sanku. I really appreciate the generous stars and good luck wishes. It took me a long time to finally figure out how to get the flow to work right. Once you figure it out it gets easier though. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again.

Comment from Therese Caron
Lovely Minute poem. I think you are describing being a poet. The first verse indicates it by mentioning the poets guide, and then to follow true what I pursue, and the wonderful refuge. I don't know if this is your intended meaning, but that is what I took from it, and loved it.

Lol. Yep. I even mentioned it last time. I think you're thinking of Dragon Poet. No biggie though. I'm just glad you liked it. Have a great day.

Eloquent and true to form as well as finely presented. I like the subtle metaphor of the sea - an ocean of words to choose from.
Favorite lines:
The waves and tide,
this poet's guide.
Love this rhyme pair too:
Each word so clear.
There's refuge here.
Great alliteraiton and consonance of S sounds plus soft C here:
I sail amid the endless seas
with grace and ease.
Flawless meter, inventive rhymes, deeply reflective tone and tenor...this makes a strong entry for the contest! GOOD LUCK.
Warmly,
rd
