Well, that Maurice character is a sy one, for sure. I enjoyed your contest entry, Mystery Author. Good job with the prompt. The only thing I would change is several reference where you say something is then use the word or to say it might be this (like a stool or stump). Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Thank you so much for your review. I will go back and be more specific on what you mentioned.

That was so funny, but really, that Maurice de Fleess really was a low-down fleecer! I have never been near a skunk, I don't think we have them in the UK, but can't be sure. I don't think I'd want to be near one anyway!! That was a really excellent contest script, and really funny too. Well done and good luck! Sandra xx

I think the skunk is called a polecat in the United Kingdom, or parts of it. I have heard them called polecats in 19th Century American literature once in a while. Thank you so much for reviewing!

A very well-written script where the trapper seems to trap more than skunks, he also tricked John and Shorty into helping him to get the skunks out of his trap and ask money for giving them the remedy against the stink if skunk.

Thank you for such a cleverly-worded review! You are right, Maurice traps more than skunks.
Comment from Cindy Warren
Yeah, I think Shorty got skunked in more ways than one. He's not too bright, is he? What are the odds Maurice just happened to have tomato juice? He obviously planned that. I wonder if they'll be able to get near their horses stinking of skunk. Jumper might suddenly decide he likes being left alone after all.

Thank you so much for reviewing. Your conclusions are very astute!

Maurice certainly both "skunked' Shorty and John, but genuinely "fleeced" them as well. Just loved this parody on what would normally be a serious work, just loved the name, and misinterpretation by our two pretty dumb adoptive friends of Maurice. A great, humorous plot, wonderful characters and well scripted scrip. Well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

You are so right on the skunk and fleece aspects. Thank you for reviewing! (Luckily, horses don't need gasoline to get where they're going.)

That?s true

LOL!! This is a very well-written script for the contest.... long enough to give the reader an insight into the characters so that, by the end, they can laugh along with John and Shorty! ;) Thanx for share and best of luck at the polls! ;)

Thank you bunches for reviewing today and promptly!

This meets the contest requirements nicely as you deliver a complete story in appropriate script format with a Western theme. It flowed well and built to a clean climax. The characters were likable and engaging. Good luck in the voting and thank you very much for sharing it.

Thank you bunches for reviewing so fast after this was posted! It made my day after hearing some sad news.

Sending prayers and big hugs your way hoping to ease some of the sadness.

Thank you. Just found out someone we sat by in church for years and years passed away after heart surgery.
-
I will light candle for the repose of their soul. We never know when God will call - sounds like they were ready having left such a loving legacy with folks like you.
-
Thanks. It was the father of one of my sister's friends in our church.
